Good time to stock up on Revlon eye and lip products!

CVS has select Revlon eye and lip products for $6.99 this week with a $4 extrabucks rewards that can be used up to six times.

The same day I saw that deal in the online preview of this week's circular, I went to CVS and got a coupon for $4 off of a $12 or more cosmetics purchase from the ExtraCare Coupon Center. Since the Revlon extrabucks reward can be repeated up to six times, you can use the coupon toward the purchase of two Revlon eye or lip products, which means the cosmetic items would be 99 cents apiece after extrabucks rewards. I also had gotten a $3 coupon a couple of weeks ago that is good on any Revlon cosmetics purchase.

So if you also got one of the $3 Revlon coupons and still have it, you can make some money on this week's deal:

Two Revlon eye or lip items @ $6.99 = $13.98        
Minus the $4 off $12 cosmetics coupon =$9.98

SavingStar members can get a 3 percent discount on Elmer's Glue as well as $1.25 on the purchase of three boxes of Ziploc bags. Coupons.com has a $1/3 coupon for the Ziploc bags as well.

Ziploc also is a partner with Recyclebank, and specially marked packages have codes that you can enter on the site to earn points to be used on various rewards. One of those rewards is a $5 CVS gift card for 1,500 points. Although the point value sounds intimidating, it's easy to earns hundred of points in a short time by doing fun activities and watching short videos related to recycling.

BIC is currently running a an instant win game on Facebook where participants can win prizes by writing about what they like about the back-to-school season. BUT if you don't win instantly, you get a $1.50/2 coupon for any two BIC products. You can play the game once a day to get more coupons. But if you end up winning something, you no longer are allowed to participate in the game. I won a BIC Velocity pen last year and absolutely fell in love with it.

Lysol has 50 cent coupons on its website for the disinfectant spray and the disposable wipes.

Kellogg's Raisin Bran and Frosted Flakes are pictured in the CVS ad as eligible family size cereals, and Coupons.com has a $1/3 coupon that can be used on those two Kellogg's cereals. Also, the Kellogg's website has a $1/2 coupon for Kellogg's Raisin Bran.

If it's hard to decide what to buy, this deal can be repeated twice in one week. I may end up doing that myself when I shop at CVS this weekend. Be back later this week with beauty deals.

If you buy a lot of CVS brand products...

...this is a good week to shop at CVS!

The ExtraCare Coupon Center is dispensing a $3 off a $10 purchase of any CVS products. AND there are some extrabucks rewards on which this coupon can be used.

I used mine of the Buy $10, Get $3, Buy $20, Get $10 extrabucks rewards deal on select CVS beauty products. AND not only did I get the $3 off coupon on $10 CVS products yesterday, but when I scanned my card again after I got that coupon, I got a $2 off 2 CVS body wash or bar soap coupon and a $1 off coupon on CVS cotton balls/rounds/squares or nail polish remover. I also used my 25 percent off coupon on regular priced items I got in the mail and picked up a newspaper. When I used all of those coupons, along with a $5 extrabucks rewards coupon, I got everything for 93 cents and the $3 in extrabucks rewards. Later on in the week, I plan to spend $10 more on those products so I can get an extra $7 back. I am waiting to see if CVS issues a percentage off coupon on regular prices later on in the week before I buy any more on this deal.

CVS shoppers looking for a deal on baby products can take advantage of the Buy $12, Get 2 or Buy $20, Get $5 extrabucks rewards on select CVS baby items. They include:

CVS baby shampoo, wash, detangler, lotion, powder, or oil: Buy 1, Get 1 50 percent off
CVS wipes, diapers, or baby formula: Buy 1, Get 1 50 percent off

Since these are sale priced, they wouldn't be eligible for an extra percentage off coupon if CVS decided to issue one of those this week.

I believe that Caliber is a CVS brand, which means that the $3 off of a $10 purchase of CVS products could be used toward the Buy $20, Get a $5 Classroom Gift Card if that is the case. All Caliber home and office supplies are one of the many items eligible for the deal, and they are Buy 1, Get 1 50 percent off.

I have found some other coupons and other ways to earn money on the Classroom Gift Card. I'll tell about those later this week.

Next week's extrabucks rewards deals are odd...

...but they could work out for more savings for CVS customers.

When I looked at the preview online of next week's CVS weekly ad, I was puzzled by some of the combinations of items that were put together for extrabucks rewards deals. For instance, there is a Buy $20, Get a $5 Classroom CVS gift card deal. While most of the items are back-to-school related, some of them take a stretch of the imagination to see their relationship to going back to school.

I was able to locate a couple of  coupons that could be used on this deal:

Also, according to Sunday Coupon Preview, the SmartSource coupon insert in Sunday newspapers will have a coupon for 75 cents/2 on Nabisco cookie or cracker products 6.5 oz or larger, which will help out with the cookies and crackers featured in this deal.

I could see the food products going into a child's lunch, but not the 3+ oz. Dove chocolate bars. Perhaps those are for bribing teachers. On the other hand, CVS customers who don't have children going back to school are able to take advantage of the food portion of the deal whereas if there were no food items linked to this deal, that group of customers would have to pass this deal by.

There are some other extrabucks rewards deals in the next CVS weekly ad that have some odd product combinations. While you're checking those out for yourselves with the link in the previous sentence, I'll search the web for coupons you can use for those deals.

How I'm getting $57 worth of Zyrtec for about $1.25

A couple of posts ago, I told you about the Johnson & Johnson's Buy $30, Get $10 or Buy $50, Get $20 extrabucks rewards deal at CVS this week and expressed concern that the $50 level was to high for me and possibly others as well.

After that post, I found out there were a couple of things I didn't realize. I went to CVS to get a bottle of Zyrtec because I was out, and I take Zyrtec on a daily basis to fight my allergy to dust mites. 30 ct. tablets or 24 ct. liquid gel bottles of 24-hour Zyrtec are on sale for $18.99. To my surprise, the shelf tag said they were part of the Johnson & Johnson's extrabucks rewards deal. They were listed under the banner for the deal in the CVS weekly ad, but they were on the list of products eligible when I clicked on the part of the ad that had other eligible products pictured.

I had $13 in extrabucks rewards on me to cover most of the price, but there were several bottles of the liquid gels that had $5 peel-off coupons on them, so I got one of those. After tax, I paid roughly $1.80 for the Zyrtec.  I also took advantage of the Starbucks iced coffee deal at the same time. The iced coffee is on sale for $1.50, and CVS shoppers get that amount back in extrabucks rewards.

I still had $4 in extrabucks rewards I didn't use, and I had $5 in extrabucks rewards coming from filling 10 prescriptions at CVS. Along with the $1.50 in extrabucks rewards I got from getting the Starbucks iced coffee, I went back to CVS this morning and found another bottle of Zyrtec with a $5 coupon on it. I ended up spending $4.47 with tax and got $10 in extrabucks rewards.

I was going to stop there, but when I read my receipt, it said, "Spend 12.02 More, Get 10.00 ExtraBucks." I didn't realize that after getting the lower amount on an extrabucks deal where one had a choice on rewards, one could then turn around and use them to complete the extrabucks rewards deal at the higher amount. So if I can find another bottle of Zyrtec with a $5 coupon on it and use the $10 in extrabucks rewards I got today, a third bottle will cost me $4.97, and I will receive another $10 in extrabucks rewards.

If I am correct in my calculations and my estimate of what I will be paying for my final bottle of Zyrtec, I will spend roughly $11.25 on the three bottles, and with the $10 in extrabucks rewards, it will be like spending only about $1.25.

This is one of the best deals I've ever gotten at CVS, and I'm not sure how I will be able to top it, but I know it wouldn't have happened if CVS didn't have the Buy $50, Get $20 extrabucks rewards deal on Johnson and Johnson products.

SavingStar and coupon matchups this week and next at CVS

Being the first day of the month, there were several new deals on SavingStar for shoppers to take advantage of this month as well as those that continue during August. Several of the products featured in the new deal are also on special at CVS next week, and there are also some SavingStar matchups in this week's CVS circular.

One of the new deals on Saving Star is $1.25 back on the purchase of any three Ziploc Bags. CVS has 15-100 ct. food storage on sale this week for 2/$6, and there is a $1/3 coupon on Coupons.com. CVS also has a $2 extrabucks rewards deal on Axe shower gel, shampoo, conditioner, body spray or antiperspirant/deodorant when CVS shoppers buy any 2 for $9. Save.com has a $1.50/2 coupon good for the antiperspirant. A $9 purchase of Axe products also will get CVS shoppers towards getting $5 back from SavingStar for purchasing $15 worth of Axe products before Aug. 29.

Starting Sunday, CVS will have a Buy 3/$8.64, Get $3 extrabucks rewards deal on 8.9 to 14 oz. boxes of General Mill Cereal or 16 oz. boxes of Cascadian Farms cereal. Several SavingStar deals match up with this offer. SavingStar has a 75 cent offer when one purchases any Cascadian Farm product. There is also a $1/2 offer on select varieties of Cheerios, a 75 cent offer on Golden Grahams, and a 50 cent offer on Cocoa Puffs. Coupons.com has a $1/2 coupon for the Cheerios, a $1/2 for General Mills cereals, and a 50 cent coupon for Cocoa Puffs. Chex Mix also will be on sale for 3/$5 next week, and SavingStar has a 50 cent offer on one bag. Coupons.com has a 50 cent/2 coupon as well.

There also will be some personal care SavingStar matchups at CVS next week, and you can clean up with this deal in more ways than one. CVS will have a $2 extrabucks rewards deal on Right Guard Total Defense body wash and select Right Guard or Dry Idea antiperspirant/deodorant. SavingStar has a $1 back deal on Right Guard Total Defense body wash or soap, a $1 deal on any Dry Idea, and a 50 cent deal on Right Guard Sport deodorant. Coupons.com also has a $3/3 coupon for the Right Guard Sport deodorant. Since the extrabucks rewards deal can be repeated six times, the $3/3 coupon would come in handy incase you wanted to stock up on one product or buy a variety of these items.

Before I go, I wanted to let you know that CVS once again sent out 30 percent off coupons via email this week! I was able to use the one I got last week to knock some money on several items I bought! 

CVS is trying higher spending/higher rewards extrabucks rewards deals...

...and I'm not sure I'm a fan.

One of those is a choice between a Buy $30, Get $10 extrabucks rewards or Buy $50, Get $20 extrabucks rewards on products from the Johnson & Johnson family. Those products include:

I was afraid that I wouldn't be able to access any of the coupons because I'd used coupons from the site before. However, none of the coupons were blocked for me. But there is a limit of one use per coupon.

What also would help with this offer is that CVS once again sent out $3 extrabucks rewards coupons via email today. However, those extrabucks are good only until Wednesday.

Also, if you buy $8 worth of Stayfree, Carefree, or o.b. products towards the deal, you can go online and get up to $35 worth of fitness classes or wellness offers. The items have to be bought in one purchase. Be sure to click on the link to see if there are any offers available in your area before buying anything just to get the offers.

CVS also has a Buy $100, Get $15 extrabucks rewards deal on Gap Inc. brand cards. Forking over $100 for gift cards at one time is difficult for me, However, if you have plans to do back-to-school shopping and know you are going to spend at least $100 at any of the Gap Family of stores (Gap, Old Navy, or Banana Republic), you might as well buy and use the gift cards and use the $15 in extrabucks rewards on you CVS purchases. The $15 in extrabucks rewards would pay for half of the Johnson & Johnson deal if you do the Buy $30, Get $10 extrabucks rewards deal.
